The Curriculum and Instruction Department provides degree programs leading to a Bachelor of Science and qualification for NYS initial teaching certification across various disciplines. These include Childhood 1-6 certifications in subjects like The Arts, English, French, German, mathematics, science, social studies, Spanish, and women's studies. For Adolescence 7-12, certification options include biology, chemistry, earth sciences, English, French, German, mathematics, physics, social studies, or Spanish, plus Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) K-12. All programs combine pedagogical training with subject-specific coursework. Students in Adolescence 7-12 and TESOL K-12 programs are advised to consider adding a second major in their focus area.
Prospective students seeking a Bachelor of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction can enroll directly as freshmen or transfer into the program.
