The biochemistry graduate program mirrors the College's focus on microbial, insect, biofuel, and plant biochemistry studies. Following a foundational year in general biochemistry, students choose specialized courses from diverse options in chemistry, organismal biology, and molecular biology. Advanced biochemistry coursework is offered both at ESF and Syracuse University. Chemistry students build a robust base in conventional analytical, inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry while also exploring interdisciplinary applications relevant to modern scientific demands. Every student engages in hands-on research, developing practical chemistry experience.
