Ecological Engineering focuses on creating ecosystems that benefit both people and the planet. The best designs view humanity as an integral component of nature rather than separate from it. At ESF, our educational programs and research initiatives address challenges from local communities to worldwide concerns. We explore and teach sustainable approaches, applying ecological engineering principles across diverse global contexts and multiple specialty areas. Required or concurrent coursework includes thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, statics, probability and statistics, ecology, and hydrology.
