Centered on North America's political landscape, you'll acquire core understanding of party systems, election campaigns, policy development, and voter behavior, while honing practical abilities in data interpretation, policy evaluation, and professional writing. A mandatory internship will further refine your capabilities and create valuable professional connections to propel your career forward.
As a participant in Suffolk's Applied Politics MA program, you will:
Grow your knowledge and professional network through an essential internship, available in Boston, Washington D.C., or internationally, Develop strategic competencies in policy documentation, academic research, and statistical analysis, Study under our accomplished faculty of scholars and field experts, Apply campaign strategy techniques in our Ready, Set, Run course and through our renowned Suffolk University Political Research Center (SUPRC), Access our worldwide alumni network spanning government positions, global diplomacy, corporate advisory, advocacy organizations, and diverse other fields.
The internship component allows you to investigate various professional directions. We'll collaborate with you to customize an internship that aligns with your career aspirations while accommodating your current work and personal commitments. To complete this requirement, you must dedicate 200+ hours to an internship (either remote or on-site), submit a reflective paper about your experience, and present your findings to faculty reviewers.
