Suffolk Law's accelerated JD program caters to ambitious, highly dedicated students eager to tackle year-round coursework to complete their law degree a full year faster than traditional programs. Given the program's rigorous pace, admissions are extremely competitive with limited spots available.
Participants in Suffolk Law's accelerated track can obtain their JD in just 24 months (full-time) or 36 months (part-time evening). While following the same core curriculum and credit requirements as standard JD students, they benefit from an intensive schedule that includes summer sessions before and after the first year to accelerate graduation.
Through the Trial and Appellate Advocacy Concentration, you'll gain hands-on instruction from seasoned professionals including judges and practicing litigators. This comprehensive training equips you for success as a trial lawyer in either public service or private practice.
The program features five mandatory core classes plus either a clinical placement or faculty-approved externship. Students select three specialized electives from a wide range of litigation-focused courses across multiple legal disciplines. Core classes develop fundamental litigation techniques, while externships and clinics enable practical application of classroom knowledge with actual clients. Electives let students tailor their education to specific legal interests.
