Suffolk Law's accelerated JD program caters to ambitious, highly dedicated students eager to tackle year-round coursework to complete their law degree a full year faster than conventional programs. Given the rigorous nature of this track, admissions are extremely competitive with limited available spots.
Participants in Suffolk Law's accelerated program can obtain their JD in just 24 months (full-time) or 36 months (part-time evening). While following the same core curriculum and credit requirements as standard JD candidates, they achieve this through an intensive schedule that includes summer sessions before and after their first academic year.
The field of environmental law intersects with energy law, which stands as a major and specialized legal domain. As the final regulated industry in the United States, electric power faces extensive oversight from state and federal agencies regarding pricing, technology selection, and service conditions. Energy law blends administrative regulation with aspects of environmental, tax, and corporate law. Following widespread electricity deregulation across 18 states and substantial smart grid investments promoting energy efficiency and renewables, this dynamic legal sector offers abundant career prospects and is recognized as a growing field for legal professionals.
