The Master of Arts in Teaching Science curriculum prepares students for New York State certification to teach Biology, Earth Science, Chemistry, and Physics in middle and high schools (grades 7-12), with an additional option to teach grades 5-6. Enrolled students may also become eligible for a General Science certification extension covering grades 7-12. Developed jointly with the University's Departments of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Chemistry, Geosciences, Physics, and Distributed Teacher and Leader Education, this program caters to individuals with minimal or no background in education or prior teaching experience.

Graduate Record Exam (GRE, general test, not subject test)
