The Department of Cultural Analysis and Theory, housed within the College of Arts and Sciences, provides graduate programs leading to M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Cultural Analysis & Theory. Students can specialize in Comparative Literature, Cultural Studies, or Women's & Gender Studies, and pursue advanced certificates in these fields. The Department of Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature (CSCL) features distinctive interdisciplinary programs in Cinema and Cultural Studies (CCS) and Comparative Literature (CLT), along with graduate offerings in Cultural Studies (CST) and Comparative Literature (CLT). CSCL students develop skills to critically examine various modern cultural expressions—from cinema to literature to digital media—through transnational, historical, and cross-medium approaches.
