The MCB program provides a distinctive interdisciplinary curriculum culminating in a Ph.D. degree. Students benefit from exceptional doctoral training opportunities across diverse fields, thanks to the extensive resources and high-caliber research facilities at Stony Brook University, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, and Brookhaven National Laboratory. The Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) Graduate Program delivers a comprehensive educational pathway for Ph.D. candidates. Research within MCB spans a wide spectrum of biological subjects, from plant to human systems, addressing critical areas such as Cancer, Infectious Diseases, Gene Regulation, Structural Biology, Neuroscience, DNA Replication, Developmental Processes, Immune Function, Cell Division, Protein Transport, Cellular Signaling, and Membrane Biology. Students can tailor their studies by choosing one of three specialized tracks: Molecular Biology & Biochemistry, Cellular & Developmental Biology, or Immunology & Pathology.
