Physics explores the fundamental laws that shape our universe. It employs mathematical language and finds applications across all natural sciences (astronomy, chemistry, biology, geology, etc.) and engineering disciplines. The Physics major aims to impart these core principles and cultivate scientific thinking about the physical world. Foundational physics knowledge proves valuable in diverse fields like astronomy, engineering, computer science, geology, biophysics, medicine, healthcare technology, education, law, business, and more. As physics principles remain timeless and form the foundation for emerging technologies, this major equips students with adaptable skills that retain lasting relevance. Post-graduation, about 50% of our physics majors pursue advanced degrees in physics or related fields, while the other half enter industrial careers - though many later return for graduate studies.
