The Chemistry Bachelor of Science program equips students for advanced chemistry studies or careers in industry and related fields. It offers specialized tracks in biological chemistry, chemical physics, and environmental chemistry alongside the standard chemical science path. The Chemistry Department's B.S. curriculum meets the accreditation standards set by the American Chemical Society's Committee on Professional Training. To earn a Chemistry B.S. degree, students must choose from five concentrations (Chemical Science, Biological Chemistry, Chemical Physics, Environmental Chemistry, or Marine and Atmospheric Chemistry). Each concentration builds upon fundamental coursework in introductory chemistry, physics, and mathematics, supplemented with specialized classes tailored to the chosen track. Those looking to merge chemistry with materials science may explore the Engineering Chemistry Interdisciplinary Program.
