This demanding four-year curriculum offers comprehensive foundational training in electrical engineering throughout the initial two years. Starting in the third year, students have the option to focus their studies on either microelectronics or telecommunications. The program concludes in the fourth year with an innovative team-based design project, supervised by a faculty member. Each student is paired with a faculty advisor for guidance on course selection, academic advancement, and career planning. Students utilize cutting-edge instructional labs throughout their studies, featuring equipment for computer-aided circuit design, lasers, machine vision, computer graphics, microprocessor systems, microwave electronics, digital signal processing, and modern electronic communications. Electrical engineering graduates are sought after in diverse sectors such as energy, aeronautics, communications, testing laboratories, computer hardware and software, and financial systems. For instance, a communications engineer might enhance network communications, create efficient commercial systems, or develop tactical, traffic control, or satellite surveillance systems. A circuit design engineer could create, develop, and produce electronic circuits for various uses, including microcomputers. Electrical Engineering is part of the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS) offerings that result in a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree. The Electrical Engineering BE Program holds accreditation from ABET's Engineering Accreditation Commission.
