The Dual-Degree program in Science and Engineering at the College, in partnership with NYU Tandon School of Engineering (previously Polytechnic School of Engineering), enables dedicated, technically-inclined students to combine a liberal arts science major with a conventional engineering curriculum. This program suits those passionate about science and engineering who also desire a liberal arts foundation before diving into undergraduate engineering studies. After five years, graduates earn a B.S. from the College of Arts and Science and another B.S. from NYU Tandon School of Engineering. This dual-degree background often leads to outstanding career prospects.
Participants fulfill all College Core Curriculum mandates, excluding the foreign language requirement, which is waived. (Their mandatory math and science classes naturally meet the Core's Foundations of Scientific Inquiry criteria.) Scheduling for specific courses is typically adaptable, and those with Advanced Placement credits might reduce their semester workload or have additional space for elective options.
