The history of science graduate program provides opportunities for students to focus on analyzing the sciences, technology, environment, and medicine from historical perspectives, exploring their societal, cultural, intellectual, economic, and political dimensions. Our faculty comprises experts whose research spans multiple eras, from ancient times to the modern day, covering diverse regions such as Europe, Africa, the Americas, the Middle East, and East Asia. Alongside core history of science studies, students select a specific geographic or national focus for their research. The curriculum encourages interdisciplinary collaboration, with students frequently engaging with faculty across the university—including science departments, Philosophy, Classics, Anthropology, English, and various language and regional studies programs—to broaden their academic perspectives.
