The study of Classics examines the written works and physical artifacts of ancient Greek and Roman civilizations, encompassing their languages, literary texts, philosophical thought, historical records, artistic creations, and archaeological remains. Stanford undergraduates from any discipline who wish to pursue graduate studies in Classics can apply for the department's combined bachelor's/master's program. This co-terminal degree option necessitates submitting an application and gaining admission during a student's final undergraduate year. Academic work completed from the sophomore year onward may qualify for transfer to graduate credit, provided these courses aren't counting toward undergraduate degree requirements.
