Develop engineering expertise while examining various aspects of the energy sector, such as renewable sources, oil and gas extraction, geothermal systems, and beyond. This curriculum offers students the freedom to investigate energy's transformation, grounded in an earth sciences perspective on energy resources. Energy resources engineers focus on creating processes for energy extraction. The design process involves mapping energy resource distributions, developing and managing production facilities, choosing and enhancing energy collection methods, addressing environmental considerations in energy exploration and production, calculating energy process efficiency, and conducting monitoring. Students can specialize in either clean energy or oil & gas. The Energy Resources Engineering major aims to equip students with the engineering abilities and fundamental knowledge necessary to thrive as technical leaders in the energy field.
