Mechanical Engineering incorporates components from numerous fields centered on key areas including biomedicine, computational engineering, design, energy, and multiscale engineering. The ME program integrates aspects from various disciplines focused on these core themes. Course offerings might cover subjects such as mechatronics, computational simulation, dynamics of solids and fluids, microelectromechanical systems, biomechanical engineering, energy science and technology, propulsion systems, sensing and control technologies, nano- and micro-mechanics, and design principles.
A high school diploma or the equivalent is required in order to enroll at Stanford. Generally, we receive English proficiency exam results (TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test, etc.) from applicants whose native language is not English and/or the primary language of instruction at their secondary school is not English.
