The Early Childhood and Family Studies Program offers communities a holistic early childhood education approach that embraces cultural, ethnic, and economic diversity while incorporating contemporary, creative concepts and fostering genuine, experiential learning. Students will examine child development from infancy through age 12, with particular emphasis on the critical birth-to-8-year period across all developmental domains: physical, social-emotional, linguistic, and intellectual. This prepares graduates for diverse career paths in the evolving field of early childhood education. The curriculum equips professionals to work with children from birth to age 8 and their families. Successful completion of the program leads to an AAS degree in Early Childhood and Family Studies, which holds accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children's Early Childhood Associate Degree Accreditation Commission.
