The Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education program equips students with the essential skills to effectively teach and inspire diverse young learners across urban educational environments in both public and private institutions. Under the guidance of seasoned faculty, participants train to become influential educators for young children. Throughout this program, you will: Gain hands-on experience evaluating children's learning, designing lesson plans, and conducting classroom instruction. This program qualifies graduates to teach in infant/toddler programs, preschools, and kindergarten through third grade, with specialized training in child growth, family-focused approaches, English language learners, and special needs education. Alumni are equipped to teach in inclusive P/K-3 classrooms serving diverse urban populations. Maintaining a C grade or better in all education courses is mandatory for program continuation, student teaching, and degree completion. Students move through the curriculum in dedicated cohorts that stay together during the two-year professional education phase. To accommodate different educational backgrounds and career goals, the program offers two completion tracks: a standard Four-Year Pathway and an accelerated Two-Year Transfer Single Articulation Pathway (TSAP).
