Loyola's early childhood special education program teaches inclusive, specialized instructional methods to support all children from infancy through second grade. Earning this degree provides dual licensure in both early childhood and special education for ages birth to grade 2, qualifying graduates to work in general, inclusive, or special education settings. The program develops essential skills for teaching typically developing children alongside those with disabilities.
Graduates earn credentials in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Early Intervention (for working with families of infants/toddlers with disabilities), and Special Education. This Illinois-exclusive program combines fieldwork with practical experience, producing graduates highly valued by schools and programs.
