This 33-credit graduate program, grounded in research and standards, is designed for educators pursuing a Master of Science Degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). It caters to professionals aiming to support linguistically and culturally diverse learners through innovative, critically engaged pedagogy and socially conscious teaching methods. The curriculum emphasizes multimodal instructional design tailored for ENL (English as a New Language) students, covering essential topics like dual language methodologies, the psychological and sociological aspects of teaching diverse learners, effective assessment tools, individualized instruction strategies (including for special education), technology integration, and hands-on field experiences to cultivate reflective teaching practices. Our 11-course sequence equips candidates to become skilled, compassionate, and culturally responsive educators of English Language Learners (ELLs).
