The accelerated dual degree program in government and politics allows driven students to earn both their bachelor's and master's degrees within five years of continuous full-time study. Participants can choose between a thesis-based or course-based pathway. Thesis-track students complete 141 total credits (including 33 graduate-level credits), with 6 credits dedicated to GOV 900 (Master's Research). The non-thesis alternative also requires 141 total credits (33 at graduate level), substituting 6 credits of advanced departmental courses for the research component.
Upon finishing undergraduate requirements, students transition to full-time graduate coursework during their fifth year. Detailed program specifications are available through consultation with the department chair.
