Management science focuses on creating mathematically-driven models for strategic planning, administration, operations, and decision-making processes. These analytical frameworks find application across diverse sectors including supply chains, production, retail, healthcare, financial services, national security, and nonprofit entities. Within the EMIS program, these quantitative techniques are further utilized to optimize systems for manufacturing products and providing services efficiently.
The culminating experience for the Management Science BS degree is EMIS 4395 Senior Design. Established in the 1980s, this capstone course bridges academic theory with practical application by deploying student consulting teams to tackle actual organizational challenges faced by businesses and government agencies in the Dallas area and elsewhere.
