The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering provides a comprehensive range of bachelor's degree courses covering communications, networks, digital signal processing, optoelectronics, electromagnetics, microelectronics, computer architecture, digital systems, and hardware security. Students have the option to select from three major programs and can pursue a double major in fields like Mathematics and Physics. The department also offers two minor programs. Qualification Requirements

SMU will superscore an applicant’s ACT or SAT scores – combining the highest scores on each section of a test in order to achieve the highest possible ACT composite or SAT combined score. When a student submits both ACT and SAT scores, the admission office will use whichever is higher to make an admission decision. Official high school transcript. an official total score of at least 90 on the TOEFL English language proficiency exam with recommended subscores of at least: 20 Reading, 20 Listening, 24 Speaking, 24 Writing. an official score of at least 6.5 on the IELTS Academic English competency test with recommended subscores of at least: 6.5 Reading, 6.5 Listening, 7 Speaking, 7 Writing.
