The Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) program offered by the School of Business delivers an advanced curriculum tailored to equip students for professional accounting careers across public accounting firms, corporate settings, and nonprofit or government organizations. Within the Department of Accounting, students gain essential competencies and theoretical understanding to launch their accounting careers while establishing a strong base for professional growth. This program typically fulfills the educational prerequisites for taking the Uniform CPA Examination. Graduates will possess the technical expertise necessary to pursue certification exams for becoming Certified Public Accountants, Certified Management Accountants, or Certified Internal Auditors.
The MSA program accommodates both full-time and part-time enrollment. Recent accounting graduates attending full-time can fulfill all coursework and elective obligations within one academic year, while part-time students may complete requirements in two years. For those with non-business undergraduate degrees, program completion typically spans two to four years depending on course load. The MSA curriculum offers accelerated seven-week courses available in hybrid formats (meeting one evening weekly) or fully online formats without scheduled class sessions.
