Our institution provides graduate programs for both Master's and Ph.D. students. Those pursuing an M.A. engage with sociology through intensive seminars, structured coursework led by distinguished faculty, and exploration of diverse theoretical and methodological perspectives. Ph.D. candidates can delve into specialized courses covering theory, research methods, social movements, gender studies, religious sociology, cultural analysis, power dynamics, environmental sociology, racial and ethnic studies, community research, and social stratification. A dedicated criminology track enables doctoral students to focus a significant portion of their studies on Criminal Justice and Deviance.
Graduate students benefit from specialized resources including a department-specific library, dedicated study spaces, and a modern computer lab featuring high-speed printing and specialized software like Nvivo, SAS, and SPSS. Our recent Ph.D. graduates have secured faculty positions at institutions including Augusta State University, Minnesota State University Moorhead, SUNY Brockport, University of Northern Iowa, Eastern Illinois University, Yeungnam University, Mississippi State University, among others.
