A chemistry degree serves as a strong base for diverse scientific, professional, and business paths, spanning fields like agricultural chemistry, biochemistry, forensic science, materials science, medicine, patent law, renewable energy, and more. Students can engage in undergraduate research projects guided by faculty mentors and are advised to consult with academic advisors to tailor their coursework to specific career aspirations.
All Chemistry students initially enroll in the Comprehensive Chemistry track, offering an intensive curriculum with advanced training in analytical, organic, and physical chemistry. Following their first year, those pursuing a Bachelor of Science in the College of Agricultural, Life and Physical Sciences may either continue with Comprehensive Chemistry or transition to a more focused specialization, expanding on core studies in analytical, biochemistry, inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry.
