As a Ceramics student at SIU, you'll build robust technical abilities and expertise in clay work. Our curriculum spans foundational techniques like hand building, wheel throwing, and mold making to advanced studies in glaze chemistry, historical context, and theoretical frameworks.
The program encourages varied creative approaches, from crafting functional pottery to developing sculptural works ranging from figurative to abstract, including mixed-media installations.
