This degree program equips students with foundational coursework required for medical laboratory science studies. After completing 40 clinical hours at an approved medical laboratory program and providing documentation, students become eligible to apply for graduation from Southern Arkansas University.
The curriculum prepares majors for careers as medical technology technicians, with potential employment opportunities in hospital labs, clinical laboratories, and various diagnostic departments including X-ray, radiology, nuclear medicine, and ultrasound imaging.
Students must have official transcripts and marks from your high school or college/university. We require a 2.0 minimum GPA for all the incoming freshmen students.
Minimum English Requirements (must meet one of the following)
A score of 500 or higher on the written TOEFL
A score of 173 or higher on the computerized TOEFL
A score of 61 or higher on the internet-based TOEFL
A score of Band 5.5 (overall) on the IELTS
A score of 43 or higher on PTE (Pearson Test of English)
A score of 90 or higher on Duolingo
