Arkansas' top agricultural sector is poultry, and Southern Arkansas University's Poultry Science program equips students for thriving careers in this dynamic and expanding field.
SAU's Agriculture Department has long provided skilled professionals to the poultry sector, but this enhanced program will deliver more thorough, practical training. State-of-the-art poultry education facilities will be constructed in two stages, offering unparalleled resources in the area. The initial phase features the First Financial Bank Poultry Education Facility, where students can engage with all stages of poultry production from incubation to processing. The second phase will introduce a processing lab, giving SAU students complete instruction in modern post-harvest methods used in poultry facilities.
Graduates fulfilling all program requirements will receive a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science, readying them for immediate employment or further graduate studies.
