Earning an accounting degree unlocks diverse career opportunities across industries. Organizations of all sizes rely on accountants to analyze financial data and provide insights for strategic decisions. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, accounting careers are projected to grow more rapidly than many other professions. These degrees also serve as pathways to leadership roles in business operations and management.
During the initial two years, students complete a variety of courses within the Rankin College of Business and other university departments. Advanced coursework concentrates on building specialized accounting expertise.
The curriculum covers key areas such as: Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, Fraud Examination, and related disciplines.
Pursuing internships is highly recommended for accounting majors.
Each student receives guidance from a faculty advisor who assists with academic planning, professional development, and job placement support.
Students must have official transcripts and marks from your high school or college/university. We require a 2.0 minimum GPA for all the incoming freshmen students.
Minimum English Requirements (must meet one of the following)
A score of 500 or higher on the written TOEFL
A score of 173 or higher on the computerized TOEFL
A score of 61 or higher on the internet-based TOEFL
A score of Band 5.5 (overall) on the IELTS
A score of 43 or higher on PTE (Pearson Test of English)
A score of 90 or higher on Duolingo
