The Marketing & Sales of Food & Wine Associate of Applied Science Transfer (AAS-T) degree equips you with essential knowledge to earn sommelier certification (covering wine history, origins, and food pairings) while mastering effective marketing strategies for wine and food products. This program trains students for careers in wine distribution, whether selling to wholesalers, retailers, restaurants, or directly to consumers as winery professionals or hospitality entrepreneurs.
Coursework focuses on marketing fundamentals like wine packaging, pricing strategies, and brand development, while examining global wine sales demographics and regulatory compliance requirements.
Hands-on learning occurs through our campus tasting room, where students practice retail operations, packaging design, and promotional campaigns for wine and food products. The curriculum highlights product merchandising, digital marketing, labeling requirements, e-commerce operations, inventory management, regulatory compliance, social media strategies, and wine club management. Students also participate in live wine release events and gain exposure to industry functions across Seattle and Washington State.
