San Diego State University (SDSU) has teamed up with the University of Minnesota to provide a joint Professional Program in Veterinary Medicine, culminating in a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. Prospective students need to fulfill all pre-veterinary prerequisites before applying to this innovative professional program. Accepted students will have the option to pursue dual enrollment in the Biological Sciences (M.S.) with a Veterinary Medicine Specialization, enabling them to work toward both an M.S. degree and the PPVM curriculum concurrently before transferring to the University of Minnesota for the last two years of their DVM studies. Additional details can be found through the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges' Veterinary Medical College Application Service (VMCAS).

Graduates will:
Exhibit comprehension of core biological concepts and processes governing animal health and disease across molecular, histological, and macroscopic scales.
