Passion translates to caring through action. It means dedicating yourself to meaningful work for a purpose you hold dear. By combining dedication, expertise, and skill, you can thrive in a demanding yet fulfilling career. If you're an aspiring nonprofit professional, you likely already possess the dedication. Through SDSU's Leadership and Management of Nonprofit Organizations (LMNO) Program, you'll gain the knowledge and hone the abilities needed to advance your mission.
As a leadership and nonprofit management student, you'll build a thorough grasp of the nonprofit landscape, exploring philanthropy's role in America along with the history, principles, ethics, and frameworks of social service organizations. The curriculum covers fundraising techniques, examines how human services professions overlap with nonprofits, and teaches how to implement leadership and team-building approaches within organizational systems.
To strengthen the personal and professional competencies vital for nonprofit success, you'll undertake a 3-credit internship at an organization aligned with your career aspirations.
