The Manufacturing/Machinist Certificate of Proficiency prepares graduates for employment as Manufacturing Technicians. This program employs the innovative I-BEST teaching model, providing additional support for students learning manufacturing mathematics. Shoreline Community College collaborates with industry professionals on advisory committees to ensure curriculum meets current employer demands. Those seeking advanced training may pursue the longer Associate in Applied Arts and Sciences (AAAS) in Manufacturing/Machining. Students aiming for a four-year engineering degree should follow the Associate in Science - Track 2 (AS-T2) Planning Guide. This certificate delivers fundamental knowledge and skills that serve as critical foundations in Manufacturing/Machinist Technology. All certificate courses apply toward the AAAS degree in Manufacturing/Machinist Technology.
