Theatre majors gain comprehensive training in all areas of stage production, including performance, direction, design, playwriting, and management. Each academic year features four major productions - two staged at our state-of-the-art University Theatre and two at the renowned South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) downtown. A distinctive program feature allows students to audition and perform in all productions, including mainstage performances, starting their very first semester.

Our distinguished Theatre faculty includes academic experts, classically trained performers, experienced directors, and award-winning production designers, often joined by visiting professionals currently working in the field. The university's prime location near Manhattan and Broadway provides exceptional internship possibilities both locally and in New York. Numerous Theatre students compete each year in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival with faculty support, gaining valuable critiques and professional connections.
