Seattle University's Advanced Practice Nursing Immersion (APNI) pathway enables college graduates without healthcare experience to join the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program and train as advanced practice nurses. Our APNI to DNP program delivers an immersive, hands-on curriculum that thoroughly equips you to provide care across diverse health scenarios. The initial five quarters focus on pre-licensure coursework to prepare you for the Registered Nurse (RN) examination, followed by three years of doctoral studies to become an advanced practice nurse. Completing all four years earns you the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.

After finishing pre-licensure requirements and passing RN exams, you'll progress to doctoral coursework in your chosen specialization.

Evidence of minimum of earned four-yearbaccalaureatedegree from regionally accredited institution or U.S. equivalent. Submit official, degree-posted transcript from last 90 quarter/60 semester graded credits of your bachelor's degree, including any transfer institution credit earned during this time period. Unofficial transcripts for all post-baccalaureate coursework or satisfying prerequisite coursework also required. If admitted, students have until the end of their first quarter of enrollment to provide official copies.

ADDITIONAL CRITERIA FOR APPLICANTS WITH AN RN AND BACHELOR'S DEGREE

Copy of current RN licensure without practice restrictions or ability to obtain an RN license in WA state if from another state.
Evidence of minimum of earned four-yearbaccalaureatedegree from regionally accredited institution or U.S. equivalent. Submit official, degree-posted transcript from last 90 quarter/60 semester graded credits of your bachelor's degree, including any transfer institution credit earned during this time period.
5 quarter credit undergraduate Statistics course or its equivalent completed within 10 years with a grade of C (2.0) or better

ADDITIONAL CRITERIA FOR POST-MASTER'S APPLICANTS WITH AN RN OR NP
Official transcripts from all accredited institutions where graduate-level courses were taken must reflect a GPA of at least 3.0 from a regionally accredited college or university. The earned master's degreemay be in nursing or other health related field. If the masters is in nursing it must be from a CCNE or NLNAC accredited nursing program.

Current unencumbered RN license. If applicant is a nurse practitioner, he/she must also have current, unencumbered ARNP license
