This program is perfect for students pursuing elementary education careers in Washington state. The curriculum covers child development psychology and evaluation methods for subjects like mathematics, science, reading, and social sciences. Collaborating with Seattle University's College of Education, we provide a focused track in elementary teaching. During their third and fourth years, students work toward qualifying for Washington's Elementary (K-8) Teaching Certification and an English Language Learner (ELL) specialization. Graduates who finish the degree program and obtain certification can immediately begin teaching in both private and public institutions. After finishing their undergraduate core requirements, Matteo Ricci Institute students will be able to: Engage in humanistic examination of systemic inequities and enduring philosophical questions. Apply reflective practices rooted in Jesuit Catholic values when making choices. Analyze how societal elements like influence and advantage shape personal and collective experiences. Compare various interpretations of equity and fairness. Communicate thoughts effectively through situation-appropriate verbal and written expression.
