History involves the methodical examination of humanity's past. At Santa Barbara City College, students can explore a diverse and comprehensive history curriculum. The History Department fosters an environment for developing innovative, thoughtful, and analytical approaches to historical inquiry. As a cornerstone of liberal arts education, history offers essential preparation for careers in business, law, and teaching, as well as advanced academic pursuits.
Graduates of high schools or equivalent are eligible for admission, with the equivalent of a GPA of 2.0 or better.
Students must be 18 years or older by the start of the semester without restrictions.
