The Master of Biotechnology (MBT) program, delivered by the Department of Biological Sciences, combines intensive practical training in molecular biology with MBA-level business instruction from the College of Business. Core curriculum covers key biotechnology industry topics such as pharmaceutical development, sales strategies, financial management, and patent law. A mandatory internship enables students to implement their knowledge in professional environments.
Students can enhance the core program by selecting electives in specialized scientific or business subjects aligned with their career objectives. MBT alumni emerge as skilled professionals with firsthand industry experience, prepared to deliver immediate value to biotech firms. Career opportunities span diverse roles including scientific research, product innovation, sales, compliance, clinical operations, team leadership, quality assurance, and more.
U.S. bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, or the completion of a 4-year bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited, and approved institution from a country outside of the U.S. A 2.5 GPA (from the 0.0-4.0 U.S. grading scale) in the last degree completed or a 2.5 GPA in the last two years of full-time study.
English Language Proficiency: IELTS: 8.0; TOEFL – 100 (IBT), paper based – 550, Computer based – 250; Pearson Test of English (PTE) – 53. All students must take the GRE General Test for admission to the Master of Biotechnology program. International students will need to take either the TOEFL or IELTS test in addition to the GRE.
