The Master of Science in Transportation Management (MSTM), delivered through the Lucas Graduate School of Business in collaboration with the Mineta Transportation Institute, is an accredited 30-unit program designed for part-time completion in approximately 2.5 to 3 years. This program includes six core courses, two electives, and a two-part capstone project.
Instruction is provided by nationally renowned faculty with academic and professional expertise. The MSTM holds full accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
Courses are conducted live online during weekday evenings, enabling working professionals to balance employment with studies. The typical schedule involves one weekly evening class per ten-week session, allowing students to complete about four courses annually.
Students must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in the U.S. or the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree earned from a recognized institution if the degree was earned outside of the U.S. A preferred 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) grade point average (GPA) in the last 60 semester units or 90 quarter units of study. An absolute minimum GPA of 2.5 is required for graduate admission at SJSU. Four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited institution, with a minimum 3.0 GPA for the last 60 units preferred.
English Language Proficiency: IELTS: 6.5; TOEFL – 80 (IBT), paper based – 550, Computer based – 213; Pearson Test of English (PTE) – 53.
