The Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design (BSID) program, delivered by the Department of Design, equips students for industrial design careers with a curriculum blending design studio work, theoretical studies, and technical skills. This foundation is enriched by coursework in technology, business, science, arts, and humanities. The program fosters critical thinking, creative process management, aesthetic principles, communication abilities, and an understanding of both business and human-centered aspects of product creation. Leveraging connections with leading local and global design firms and alumni, the program prioritizes real-world professional experience. Through studio projects, students tackle varied product types, user environments, and industry challenges, culminating in a polished professional portfolio. The Industrial Design program holds recognition from the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Art & Design (NASAD).
Students must Earn a high school diploma, or equivalent and earn the equivalent of a U.S. 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or an average of “B” grades. Successfully complete three years of college preparatory mathematics with a minimum grade of “C-” or better.
Students admitted to the BA in Design Studies may be admitted to the BFA in Graphic or Interior Design or the BS in Industrial Design on a space available basis after successfully completing required portfolio reviews in their first two years of study.
English Language Requirements: IELTS - 6.0, TOEFL – 61 (IBT), Paper based – 500; Pearson Test of English (PTE) – 44.
