The Earth System Science (ESS) program, provided by the Geology Department, aims to expand geoscience students' horizons by combining knowledge of Earth's biological and physical processes with cross-disciplinary, solution-focused studies of sustainability's human aspects. This ESS degree equips students for diverse career paths such as geohazard evaluation, environmental geology, climate change mitigation, water resource planning, geoscience consulting, Earth Science education, and other professions emphasizing the relationship between society and our planet.
