Recipient of a National Science Foundation Noyce Grant, the Mathematics BA Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) prepares students for careers as middle or high school math educators. This program fulfills both the Bachelor's in Mathematics requirements and the Single Subject Credential in Mathematics (SSC), incorporating 21 units from the Education Specialist Preliminary Teaching Credential for Mild/Moderate Support Needs (ESC). California's Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) has authorized this integrated undergraduate teacher preparation program. Graduates completing the 4-year Mathematics BA will qualify for CCTC's preliminary single subject credential in secondary mathematics. Those who pursue the additional ESC requirements (18 units) post-graduation can earn a preliminary credential in mild/moderate support services along with a Master of Arts in Special Education.
