The Master of Science in Counseling with a focus on Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling (MFCC) equips students with the qualifications needed to become licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs) in California. Marriage and family therapists (MFTs) are specialized counselors who offer evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for individuals, couples, families, and groups to enhance relationship quality, mental well-being, and social adaptation. The program's coursework highlights a culturally aware, inclusive methodology and a developmental perspective centered on systemic and relational counseling. MFCC graduates pursue careers in diverse environments, including mental health organizations, educational institutions, medical facilities, private practices, and community advocacy roles. The MFCC program fulfills all California state requirements for LMFT licensure.
