The School of Engineering provides Bachelor of Science degrees in Civil, Computer, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering, along with a minor in each field. Electrical engineering focuses on designing and analyzing electrical and electronic devices and systems. This engineering specialty encompasses various domains, such as electrical power generation and distribution, the development of electronic semiconductor devices, and the production of components and systems for consumer, medical, telecommunications, and numerous other uses. Graduates holding a B.S. in Electrical Engineering have multiple career paths. They can work in the analysis, modeling, simulation, design, testing, manufacturing, or field services of electrical, electronic, or magnetic equipment. Those pursuing research, development, or academic teaching may pursue advanced degrees in a specific electrical engineering area at universities. The Bachelor of Science programs in Civil, Computer, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering demand 127, 128, 129, and 129 semester units, respectively. At least 30 units must be completed through residency at SF State.
Complete a secondary/high school curriculum that totals 12 years of primary-secondary education, be qualified to enter a university in your home country and have a good scholastic record from an accredited/recognized school. Have a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) in the 4.0 grading scale or B- average in academic courses completed after 9th grade.
TOEFL score of at least 61, IELTS score of at least 6.0 or PTE score of at least 45 is required.
