The five-year combined B.S./M.S. program in Electrical Engineering enables students to earn both a standard four-year Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree with just one extra year of coursework.
Alongside GW's dual degree policies, participants must fulfill these academic conditions:
Finish any departmental B.S. curriculum, with the stipulation that two Technical Electives (totaling six credits) be selected from graduate courses offered by the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering. As per standard procedure, all undergraduate Technical Electives require advisor approval. Importantly, these two ECE graduate courses count toward both the bachelor's and master's degrees.
Complete eight additional graduate-level courses (24 credit hours), all subject to advisor approval.
Combined program students gain enhanced undergraduate research opportunities and are advised (though not obligated) to pursue a master's thesis.
Admission requires a minimum 3.0 GPA, which must be maintained through the eighth semester to proceed into the ninth semester of the program.
All prospective students must consult their academic advisors before applying.
Students should apply to the George Washington University (GW) as a first-year applicant if you are currently in your senior year of high school, have earned a GED or completed high school.
