The Bachelor of Science in Earth Sciences equips students for immediate professional roles in industry or government, as well as advanced studies in geology, oceanography, meteorology, and related fields. Through the BS program's Earth Sciences Core and supporting Basic Science and Math courses, students gain deep insights into Earth's interconnected systems (geosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere) and their dynamic interactions. The core curriculum fosters interdisciplinary scientific knowledge while developing essential skills in quantitative analysis, field research, and effective communication—valuable assets for both academic pursuits and professional careers. The Department of Earth & Climate Sciences provides two undergraduate degrees and a minor covering geology, hydrology, oceanography, meteorology, and climate science, plus a Master of Science in Geosciences. These programs focus on understanding Earth's complex processes and cultivating problem-solving abilities to address pressing environmental challenges.
