The Bachelor of Arts in Classics is a cross-disciplinary program that allows students to investigate the ancient civilizations of the Mediterranean region and Near East, encompassing Egypt. Through examining ancient languages, literature (both in original texts and translations), along with art and archaeology, learners can piece together historical societies and thoughtfully assess their ongoing significance in contemporary society. The curriculum teaches archaeological techniques, art historical analysis, and philological methods for studying antiquity. Every Classics major must complete 18 units of foundational courses plus 18 units of chosen electives, as outlined in the program's Degree Requirements.

You are considered a freshman applicant if you will have a high school diploma or GED and have not enrolled at any college or university beyond the summer immediately following your high school graduation.
