Our programs include undergraduate degrees in mathematics and statistics, with specializations in applied mathematics (offering multiple focus areas), data science, actuarial science, and education. At the graduate level, we provide mathematics master's programs (with concentrations in pure, applied, or teaching mathematics), along with MS degrees in statistics and biostatistics. Faculty members also participate in interdisciplinary PhD programs in mathematics and science education, as well as computational sciences.
Mathematics and statistics provide powerful tools for addressing complex challenges: from creating models for real-world applications and developing efficient computational methods, to formulating new theories for unresolved problems. Some students appreciate mathematics as the foundation of scientific and technological advancement, while others are drawn to its inherent elegance, logical structure, and systematic beauty.
Our Department features a distinctive three-part structure combining Mathematics, Mathematics Education, and Statistics & Data Science, fostering strong collaboration among faculty and students both within our department and throughout the university community.
